Just the Facts in Gay Relationships

KatieI’ve recently had some dates with Katie. Now, I work in the IT field for my actual paying gig, so working with Katie is a daily occurrence. Going on a date with one has a familiar feel to it.

Continuing my list posts; here are four things I’ve noticed about Katie:
1. Katie’s precise about times and figures. My date would appear exactly at the time we had said. I could depend on him being there on time.
2. Because Katie Sahsays Left, she can sometimes need some help loosening up. Find a Gina or Stacey that doesn’t drive you too crazy and let them help you out once in a while.
3. Yes, Katie you can tell stories or make decisions, if you try to learn how not to let all the details interfere with what you want to say or do. You can help Katie by narrowing the parameters for them. For instance, instead of asking: “Where do you want to eat for dinner?” ask: “Would you like Italian or Chinese for dinner?”
4. As right as you are, others do have world views just as valid as yours. I know it’s a stretch to open up to them, but with some practice and deep breathing, you can do it.

I hope these key points help you see Katie as the dependable fact keeper of the Four Sisters Groove.

Tweets & Twits

Like a lot of bloggers, I am on several social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and on and on… I’m finding there are SOOO many things to think about with these sites. All the details is enough to drive this Gina crazy or at least more so than I already am!

Each one of them has their own quirks and qualities: MySpace appeals to a much younger crowd, or at least it used to. (Does anyone even use MySpace any more?) Twitter is so cute! I get these “tweets” from all these busy people I don’t know who are “following” me, kind of like stalking.

Facebook is probably the most popular right now, and by far the easiest and most fun of all the sites to use. But I wonder how much of my privacy I’m giving away? I guess that is the Gina in me again, wanting to Sashay Left away from the crowds.

I also wonder if Gina really wants to know every update from people she knew from college and even high school. Now Facebook uses the term “Friend” to define these folks, and I guess at one time I probably did consider them all friends. But life changes and people change, so do I really consider them “Friends?” I guess “People from my past who found me on this social networking site” wouldn’t fit very well on their web page.

I guess I bring attention to this, since I feel like I am a much different person from the one they knew. I grew up in a very conservative household and attended private, Christian schools for both high school and college. Even though I knew I was “different” then, I toed the conservative Christian line. I didn’t accept my homosexuality until many years later. Don’t get me wrong, I knew it was always there. Always.

But the life you live has an interesting way of shaping your views, right? Your environment does influence you, and I would even go so far to say it does impact your Sister as well. So all those Friends and Followers on all my social networking groups, say hello to ME!
